Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Execute HVAC pre-commissioning, commissioning, testing, and mechanical completion in line with approved procedures and project schedules.
• Inspect and verify chillers, AHUs, FCUs, air-conditioning units, ventilation fans, pumps, valves, ducting, and chilled-water piping.
• Functionally test HVAC systems and verify operation and performance.
• Review HVAC drawings, equipment specifications, vendor data sheets, and commissioning documents.
• Assist with cooling-load and heat-load calculations and HVAC equipment selection.
• Identify technical issues, installation deficiencies, and punch-list items, and follow up on closure.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, piping, and other commissioning teams to ensure system readiness.
• Liaise with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and service engineers during commissioning.
• Prepare commissioning procedures, checklists, test reports, and completion documentation.
• Ensure compliance with PTW, LOTO, project quality standards, and HSE requirements.
• Support commissioning trials, system handover, warranty activities, and project close-out where applicable.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineering.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in HVAC system design, testing, and commissioning.
• Shipyard, marine, offshore, oil and gas, or industrial project experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, cooling-load calculations, equipment selection, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with HVAC equipment and ability to interpret drawings, technical specifications, and vendor documentation.
• Knowledge of commissioning procedures, mechanical completion, preservation, and project handover requirements.
• HVAC design software proficiency is required; Carrier HAP is preferred. Microsoft Project and Excel proficiency is requested.
• Familiarity with WinPCS, PIMS, ProCoSys, GoCompletions, or an equivalent project completion system.
• Good communication, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills; knowledge of HSE, PTW, LOTO, and applicable marine/offshore standards.

Preferred candidates

• Immediate joiners are preferred.
• Candidates should be interested in a 3-to-5-month project that may be extended.
