Role overview

The Forward Deployed Engineer joins Sia’s Middle East Data & AI team and embeds with clients across the region.

The role turns generative AI prototypes into production-grade solutions that create measurable value in daily operations.

The engineer owns technical delivery of client builds and bridges engineering teams and business stakeholders, with work spanning agentic systems, enterprise integrations, and AI adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Translate client needs into deployable AI solutions with acceptance criteria and measurable outcomes.
  • Design and deploy production LLM systems, including RAG pipelines, tool-calling agents, workflow automation, and conversational interfaces.
  • Build Python or TypeScript services, APIs, connectors, and integrations with client data and business tools.
  • Use code review, automated testing, CI/CD, logging, and monitoring; track AI component quality, latency, and cost.
  • Work within governed enterprise environments and respect data-access controls and security reviews.
  • Communicate progress, trade-offs, and risks to clients; escalate scope changes early.
  • Enable client adoption through training, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
  • Support business development by defining client needs and shaping technical solutions for the pipeline.
  • Contribute to internal generative AI accelerators, research, and training materials; perform other appropriate delegated duties.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field.
  • 2 to 6 years’ experience in software engineering or applied AI engineering.
  • Strong production experience in Python or TypeScript and experience running LLMs and agents in production.
  • Experience building RAG pipelines, tool-calling agents, and LLM workflows with evaluation and safeguards.
  • Hands-on experience with applied AI frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI SDK, and Anthropic SDK.
  • Experience with API design, integrations across heterogeneous systems, and deploying on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud with Git and CI/CD.
  • Experience in governed enterprise environments involving approved libraries and services, data-access controls, and security reviews.
  • Able to translate client needs into deployable solutions and explain technical decisions to non-technical audiences.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required; Arabic is a plus.
  • Must be based in the UAE, in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
  • No certification is required.
