Training Specialist- Security (Aircrew)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver crew security courses aligned with manuals, national aviation security programmes, ICAO Annex 17, CAR AIR Ops, Doc 8973, IOSA, and other applicable requirements.
• Conduct training needs analyses; create and review materials to address learner, business, incident, and event-related needs.
• Evaluate training and assessment methods, use feedback to improve courses, and provide remedial training when needed.
• Develop trainers through observations and feedback; manage trainer performance reviews.
• Collaborate with security, flight operations, safety, service delivery, medical, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain relevant knowledge, qualifications, and development plans; manage training projects and contribute to budget planning.

Qualifications and experience

• Attested degree or honours (12+3 or equivalent).
• At least 5 years of aviation or general security experience.
• Flight or cabin crew training experience is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of international security regulations, training design, performance management, and aircrew safety and emergency procedures.

Knowledge and skills

• Microsoft Office proficiency and business writing skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including interpreting operational data and recommending improvements.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including reporting, procedure development, and performance reviews.
• For Self-Defence and Restraint Techniques roles only, a World Federation Black Belt, preferably 3rd Dan, is preferred.
