Purpose of the role
Support planned and reactive traffic management schemes so work runs smoothly and efficiently while maintaining high health and safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee give-and-take, priority systems, Stop/Go boards, portable traffic signals, convoy working, road and lane closures, and diversions.
- Ensure work follows safe working methods, best practice and established procedures.
- Carry out risk assessments and method statements for traffic management works.
- Identify improvement opportunities and report them to the line manager.
- Complete daily vehicle checks for cleanliness, tidiness and driver and passenger safety.
- Promote a positive company image through conduct and site cleanliness.
- Assist the public by directing them through safe site routes when required.
- Recognise when management intervention is required.
Requirements
- Hold Lantra 12d accreditation, TTMBC, 12d (M1, M2, M5, M6) and Lantra 12a/b accreditation.
- Have a full valid UK driving licence with no more than six points.
- Be able to read and understand CAD drawings related to the work.
- Mechanical ability relating to traffic lights is preferred.
- Be IT literate and able to use a tablet to input data.
