Role overview

Modeling and detailing

• Develop 3D structural steel models in Tekla Structures for beams, columns, bracing, trusses, platforms, staircases, handrails, and miscellaneous steel.
• Prepare shop, assembly, single-part, general arrangement, erection, and marking-plan drawings, including connection details.
• Ensure model and drawing compliance with approved structural drawings, project specifications, and applicable standards.

Fabrication and production support

• Prepare fabrication drawings with accurate dimensions, weld details, bolt specifications, material grades, and part identification.
• Generate BOMs, MTOs, cutting lists, bolt lists, and CNC/NC1 files where required.
• Resolve workshop queries and optimize detailing for production; reduce material waste, errors, and rework.

Engineering coordination and quality

• Review structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements; identify clashes, discrepancies, missing information, and constructability issues.
• Prepare technical queries and RFIs; coordinate with engineering, project, production, procurement, and site teams.
• Incorporate approved comments, revisions, and site modifications; maintain drawing registers and revision control.
• Check models and drawings for accuracy and completeness, issue them to production schedules, and support material planning and technical issue resolution.

Qualifications and experience

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, structural engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant Tekla Structures modeling and structural steel detailing experience; at least 2 years of Tekla experience is required.
• Proficiency in Tekla Structures and AutoCAD, with experience generating fabrication drawings, BOMs, MTOs, and CNC/NC files.
• Practical knowledge of steel connections, fabrication methods, welding, bolting, erection requirements, and interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to independently detail steel models, manage multiple projects, meet production deadlines, and maintain drawing accuracy and revision control.
• Familiarity with AISC, BS, and Eurocodes is noted as applicable; experience with a structural steel fabrication company is strongly preferred.

Preferred experience

• UAE steel fabrication and construction project experience is an advantage.
• Industrial or commercial steel projects, pipe supports, equipment platforms, access structures, miscellaneous steel, complex connections, CNC-integrated fabrication, and coordination across procurement, production, and site erection are preferred.

Pay

• AED 3,500–8,000 per month.
