Program Overview

Program Experience

• Complete innovative assignments applying technical education to technology projects.
• Work with experienced CNA developers using the Scaled Agile Framework methodology.
• Apply software engineering practices such as Test Driven Development.
• Use public cloud platforms to create business applications and services.
• Learn about technology, the insurance industry, and technology's role in insurer profitability.
• Work with a dedicated manager and mentor.
• Participate in professional development, feedback, and performance coaching.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Be a sophomore, junior, or senior undergraduate student or a first-year master's student.
• Pursue Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related degree.
• Have a minimum 3.00 overall and major GPA.
• Complete coursework in object-oriented languages, data structures, web development, and SQL/database fundamentals.
• Have knowledge of information security, application security, and systems and network architecture.
• Show interest in the insurance industry.
• Work independently and in teams with strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, analytical, and learning abilities.
• Demonstrate leadership ability.
• Some previous work experience is preferred.

Program Location

• The program is based at CNA's Chicago headquarters.
• The program uses a hybrid working model, alternating between office and home.

Compensation

• The stated national base pay range for this job level is USD 35,000 to USD 65,000 annually in listed jurisdictions.
• Salary determinations may consider work experience, skills, certifications, and location.
