Technician Lead

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Train, coach, develop, and provide technical support to HVAC technicians; ensure work quality.
• Apply job-site health and safety requirements, support safety training and audits, and coordinate incident response.
• Coordinate technician assignments, dispatch, job-site assessments, materials, and on-site work.
• Manage small turnkey service projects and partner across departments to improve processes and resolve technical issues.
• Manage supplies, equipment, vehicle audits, customer inquiries, repair support, and team documentation.
• Support technicians using XOi, Salesforce, Quick Quote, RMS, WebCATS, and ComfortSite; advise the Service Director on performance.

Qualifications

• Vocational diploma in refrigeration and air conditioning; valid Journeyperson Refrigeration licence; at least five years of HVAC experience.
• Effective spoken and written French and English, strong technical background, and demonstrated team leadership.
• Problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills; commitment to continuous improvement and quality.
• Practical knowledge of HVAC products, systems, electronics, and controls; valid Class 5 licence held for at least 12 months with no infractions.
• TAG-1 certification is considered an asset.

Work conditions

• Field-based work may require travel and occasional overnight stays; overtime and weekends may be required.
• Physical and environmental demands include lifting or moving up to 40 pounds, standing on concrete, ladder and rooftop access, heights, electrical hazards, moving machinery, noise, and variable weather. Required PPE includes a hard hat, safety glasses, fall protection, and safety boots.

Compensation

• Hourly base pay is listed as $50.79; the posting states no incentive or sales commission eligibility.
