Position summary

Experienced specialist to own server and storage components of enterprise infrastructure solutions and proposals.

The role covers sizing and architecture, BOMs, tender compliance, and technical authority throughout the sales cycle.

Works with sales and technical teams to understand customer needs, design solutions, present proposals and support the sales cycle.

Customer engagement and solution design

  • Understand customer business requirements, workloads, infrastructure constraints and future growth.
  • Design enterprise server and storage platforms, architecture, sizing, performance, redundancy and connectivity.
  • Integrate designs with virtualization, backup/disaster recovery and wider data-centre environments.
  • Conduct capacity planning, workload sizing, performance analysis, configuration validation and growth planning.
  • Conduct site visits and infrastructure assessments, including government and defense facilities.
  • Compare OEM platforms and recommend suitable, commercially competitive solutions.

Documentation, proposals and sales support

  • Prepare HLDs/LLDs, solution architectures, technical specifications and BOMs for server and storage scope.
  • Prepare and own accurate technical responses for RFPs, RFQs, tenders, compliance sheets and customer questionnaires.
  • Validate compatibility, interoperability, redundancy, scalability and performance; build BOMs for costing and OEM deal registration.
  • Support customer meetings, discussions, presentations, negotiations and clarifications; conduct demonstrations, workshops and PoCs where required.
  • Work with OEMs, distributors and partners to develop solutions and secure technical resources.

Handover and delivery coordination

  • Coordinate with implementation and delivery teams to ensure solutions are feasible and accurately scoped.
  • Provide technical clarification and solution documentation during handover.
  • Align proposed architecture and BOM with customer expectations and delivery requirements.

Technical expertise

  • Core expertise: rack and blade servers; CPU, memory and IO sizing; firmware; compatibility and interoperability.
  • Enterprise storage: SAN, NAS, unified, all-flash and hybrid architectures; RAID, snapshots, replication, tiering, deduplication, compression and performance optimization.
  • Storage connectivity: Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NVMe-oF, zoning, multipathing and storage fabric design.
  • Capacity and performance planning, scalability, growth planning, high availability, redundancy, clustering and resilience.
  • Working knowledge of VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V, backup and disaster recovery, Windows Server, Linux and data-centre dependencies.

Preferred experience

  • Experience designing and proposing multi-vendor enterprise server and storage solutions.
  • Tender/RFP technical responses and BOM experience, ideally for UAE government or defense customers.
  • Exposure to OEM sizing and configuration tools; experience supporting complex enterprise, government or defense infrastructure projects.
  • Strong customer-facing, presentation, documentation and technical communication skills.

Qualifications and other requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Server/storage OEM certifications are advantageous; examples include HPE, Dell, NetApp, Nutanix, Pure Storage and Veeam.
  • Excellent written and verbal English is mandatory; Arabic is advantageous.
  • Must be eligible to obtain clearances and site-access approvals for UAE government and military sites.
  • Valid UAE driving license required.
