About The Role
We are seeking a Technical Manager who will be responsible for overseeing and reviewing all technical submissions from contractors and consultants, ensuring compliance with project specifications, design intent, and regulatory requirements.
The role plays a critical part in maintaining quality, constructability, and technical accuracy across all development phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve all contractor technical submissions, including shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical datasheets
- Ensure all submissions comply with approved design drawings, project specifications, and local authority regulations
- Coordinate with consultants, architects, and engineers to obtain necessary approvals and resolve technical discrepancies
- Provide clear comments, markups, and feedback on submissions within defined timelines
- Manage RFIs (Requests for Information) and technical queries between contractors and design teams
- Ensure alignment between design intent and on-site execution
- Support site teams in resolving technical issues during construction
- Verify that approved submissions are properly implemented on-site through inspections and coordination
- Monitor contractor compliance with approved materials, drawings, and specifications
- Maintain logs and records of all submissions, approvals, and rejections
- Track submission status and ensure timely review and turnaround to avoid project delays
- Identify technical risks, inconsistencies, or gaps in contractor submissions and propose solutions
- Ensure compliance with UAE building codes, authority requirements, and quality standards
- Prepare technical reports and updates for internal stakeholders and management
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- 15+ years of experience in real estate development or construction
- Strong experience in reviewing contractor submissions and shop drawings
- Familiarity with UAE authority approval processes
- Experience in high-end residential / villa developments
- PMP or similar certification (Preferred)
Key Skills
- Strong technical review and attention to detail
- Excellent knowledge of construction drawings and specifications
- Ability to interpret and critique shop drawings and materials
- Strong coordination and communication skills
- Time management for handling multiple submissions
