Purpose of the role
The Teaching Assistant at Smart Vision School supports students’ learning, wellbeing, and safety throughout the school day.
The role works closely with teachers to assist classroom learning, support students with diverse needs, and foster an inclusive environment.
The school aligns the role with KHDA regulations and safeguarding expectations.
Classroom support
- Assist teachers with lessons and classroom activities and provide individual or small-group learning support.
- Support Students of Determination, ELL learners, and students with diverse learning needs.
- Prepare learning materials and classroom resources and encourage student confidence, independence, and positive learning habits.
- Supervise students during lessons, breaks, and school events when required.
Wellbeing and safeguarding
- Promote positive behaviour, respect, and inclusion in line with school policies.
- Support students’ social and emotional wellbeing and help maintain a safe, orderly classroom.
- Report student welfare or safeguarding concerns to the appropriate staff member.
Professional duties
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity and follow safeguarding, welfare, and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and the operations team; attend relevant training and meetings and support school activities when requested.
Essential experience and skills
- Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
- Patient, caring, and supportive approach to working with students.
- Understanding of child safety and wellbeing responsibilities.
Desirable experience
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.
- Experience supporting Students of Determination or ELL learners.
- Experience working in schools within the UAE.

The role supports KHDA expectations for student care and protection, personal development and wellbeing, support for Students of Determination, and effective staff collaboration.
The role supports UAE Ministry of Education expectations around safe school transport, inclusive education, respect, wellbeing, and student protection.
Staff are subject to vetting, including online due diligence, references, and satisfactory criminal background checks or equivalent covering the previous 10 years of employment history.
