Purpose of the role

Supports the Group Tax team with routine tax compliance, mainly Qatar withholding tax obligations and a small number of periodic overseas entity filings.

Handles day-to-day compliance and simple tax queries; technical matters are escalated to the Head of Tax.

Responsibilities

  • Validate monthly WHT transactions with Finance, file monthly returns, and coordinate payment by the due date.
  • Complete daily and weekly contract reporting, gather supporting documents, and retrieve credit and debit notes from the system.
  • Answer simple internal tax queries; escalate technical matters to the Head of Tax.
  • Support tax residency certificate requests and routine WHT relief forms and declarations.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns for a small UAE entity with Finance.
  • Prepare data for a straightforward UK IPT filing; no prior IPT experience is required and guidance will be provided.
  • Monitor compliance deadlines and support periodic tax activities and ad hoc requests from tax authorities and Finance.

Requirements

  • Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in Qatar tax compliance and good working knowledge of Excel.
  • Able to work independently with limited supervision and manage recurring deadlines accurately.
  • Clear communication in English; Arabic is an advantage.
  • Able to recognize when to escalate and work with Finance and other teams.
