Tailor/Cutter for Luxury Fashion

Position Summary

Experience

Fabric Cutting

• Read and interpret patterns, measurements, and garment specifications.
• Accurately mark and cut fabrics according to approved patterns and production requirements.
• Ensure efficient fabric utilization and minimize material wastage.
• Organize and prepare cut panels for sewing and production.

Tailoring & Garment Construction

• Stitch and assemble garments according to approved designs and specifications.
• Operate industrial sewing machines and tailoring equipment safely and effectively.
• Ensure high-quality stitching, finishing, and garment construction.
• Perform garment alterations and modifications as required.

Fittings & Alterations

• Assist with garment fittings and implement required adjustments.
• Modify garments to achieve proper fit, comfort, and appearance.
• Handle alterations, repairs, and finishing work with precision.

Quality Control

• Inspect garments during and after production to ensure quality standards are met.
• Identify and correct defects related to cutting, stitching, fitting, and finishing.
• Ensure all finished garments meet OVO Luxury Signature quality requirements.

Production Support

• Work closely with the Master Cutter, Pattern Maker, Production Team, and Designers.
• Follow production schedules and meet assigned deadlines.
• Support sample development and production activities.
• Assist with urgent production requirements and overtime work when necessary.

Requirements

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Cutter, Tailor, or Garment Technician in the fashion industry.
• Strong knowledge of fabric cutting, garment construction, sewing, and alterations.
• Ability to work with luxury fabrics and detailed garment designs.
• Good understanding of measurements, patterns, and garment specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• Good time management and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in luxury fashion, couture, bridal wear, evening wear, or ladies' fashion.
• Experience working in a fashion manufacturing or production environment.
• Knowledge of garment fitting and finishing techniques.

Working Conditions

• Full-time position based in Dubai.
• Overtime may be required during peak production periods and urgent customer orders.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced luxury fashion production environment.
