Systems Engineer - CCTV Infrastructure Specialist

Role Overview

CCTV System Management

• Oversee CCTV hardware, software, and network operations to maintain surveillance coverage and data accessibility.
• Perform health checks, updates, and patching on CCTV servers and storage systems.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot hardware, network, and video management software integration issues.
• Implement backup and recovery procedures for video archives.

HCI Infrastructure Operations

• Design, deploy, and maintain HCI clusters supporting CCTV and core venue services.
• Manage Hyper-V or VMware virtualization platforms for scalable video and infrastructure workloads.
• Optimize shared storage and network load balancing for video streaming and infrastructure services.
• Perform firmware and software updates for HCI nodes and maintain high availability and failover.

High Availability and Recovery

• Maintain SQL Server Always On availability groups and Windows Server Failover Clustering for redundant systems.
• Conduct failover drills and recovery time objective assessments.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for surveillance and infrastructure systems.

Windows, Security, and Cloud

• Administer Windows Server environments with security hardening, performance tuning, Active Directory, Group Policy, and encryption.
• Integrate CCTV and HCI systems with SIEM tools for security event logging and alerting.
• Integrate infrastructure with cloud platforms for hybrid storage, backup, disaster recovery, and migration support.

Risk and Compliance

• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to CCTV and HCI infrastructure.
• Ensure adherence to data privacy regulations, local surveillance laws, and organizational standards.
• Audit access logs with compliance teams and document incidents, root cause analyses, and remediation actions.

Experience Requirements

• At least five years of hands-on IT infrastructure management experience is required.
• At least two years of experience focused on surveillance or video systems and HCI is required.
• Enterprise high-availability deployment and troubleshooting experience is required.
• Experience in a 24/7 operational environment with critical-system on-call rotations is required.

Education and Certifications

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or an equivalent certification is required.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate is preferred for cloud-integrated CCTV solutions.
• CompTIA Security+ or an equivalent cybersecurity fundamentals certification is required.

Required Skillset

• In-depth SQL Server Always On Availability Groups experience is required.
• Expertise in Windows Server Failover Clustering, quorum configuration, shared storage, and automated failover testing is required.
• Advanced Windows Server 2019/2022 administration, Active Directory, PowerShell, Hyper-V, and performance optimization are required.
• Knowledge of ONVIF, RTSP, VLANs, QoS for video traffic, and basic PowerShell or Python scripting is required.
• Experience with Nutanix, VMware vSAN, or Microsoft Azure Stack HCI is highly desirable.
