Support day-to-day administration and operation of servers, applications, system platforms, hardware, and software in a data center environment.
The role provides Level 1/Level 2 technical support and requires onsite work in Abu Dhabi and shifts when required.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support servers, applications, system platforms, hardware, and software.
- Monitor availability, performance, logs, and alerts, and respond to incidents.
- Provide Level 1/Level 2 support; support backups and basic disaster recovery.
- Assist with updates, patching, and scheduled maintenance; run scripts to automate repetitive tasks.
- Perform simple SQL/database queries for validation, reporting, and troubleshooting.
- Follow incident, problem, and change procedures; document configurations, scripts, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with senior system administrators, developers, and technical support teams.
- Support data center operations and participate in shifts when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 1–4 years of experience in system administration, IT support, or a related technical role; hands-on data center experience is required.
- Basic knowledge of Linux and/or Windows Server and system administration fundamentals, including services, users, and permissions.
- Basic networking knowledge covering IP addressing, DNS, ports, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with system monitoring, logging, backup, and disaster recovery concepts.
- Basic scripting/development knowledge such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python; able to read, understand, and modify existing scripts or code.
- Basic SQL knowledge and understanding of a programming language such as Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript.
- Arabic-speaking capability; willingness to work onsite in Abu Dhabi and on shifts.
