About the Role
Astek Middle East seeks a skilled Android Developer to join a client's team in Al Qassim.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience developing high-quality, scalable, and reliable Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android technologies.
Candidates with 5+ years of experience are preferred; candidates with 3+ years of relevant experience may be considered if they demonstrate strong technical capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Android applications.
- Develop Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android development frameworks.
- Integrate mobile applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Participate in application architecture and technical design discussions.
- Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and testable code following Android development best practices.
- Collaborate with Product, UX/UI, Business Analysis, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Conduct code reviews and contribute to development standards and code quality.
- Troubleshoot application crashes, performance issues, and other technical problems.
- Contribute to automated build, testing, and deployment processes for Android applications.
Required Technical Skills
- Professional experience in Android application development, ideally 5+ years; candidates with 3+ years may be considered based on technical strength.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin.
- Solid knowledge of the Android SDK and application lifecycle.
- Experience with Jetpack and Jetpack Compose.
- Understanding of MVVM and/or Clean Architecture.
- Experience integrating applications with RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with dependency injection frameworks such as Hilt or Dagger.
- Experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.
- Understanding of local data storage and caching mechanisms, such as Room.
- Experience with Git and modern source-control workflows.
- Knowledge of application security, performance optimization, and memory management.
- Experience with unit testing and UI testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience publishing and maintaining applications on the Google Play Store.
- Familiarity with Firebase services, crash reporting, analytics, and monitoring.
- Exposure to automated mobile testing.
- Understanding of secure mobile development practices.
- Experience working on large-scale or enterprise mobile applications.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Location and Eligibility
- Saudi nationality is mandatory.
- Candidates currently residing in Al Qassim will be prioritized.
- Candidates residing elsewhere may be considered if they are willing to relocate to Al Qassim.
