Structural Inspector role based in Abu Dhabi, inspecting structural works and monitoring assigned inspections for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
Inspection and site oversight
- Inspect, test, evaluate, verify, and document contractor inspections and preventive and corrective maintenance across civil systems.
- Support landscape, electrical, and mechanical inspectors with civil inspection activities at the site.
- Oversee daily contractor operations and maintenance and identify issues or required work.
- Verify civil and structural works against plans and specifications.
- Coordinate with the contractor daily and monitor work performance and execution.
Reporting and coordination
- Prepare inspection reports, progress reports, and other records required by the contract, client, or project management staff.
- Keep a daily diary of work, issues, approvals or rejections, operating hours, labor, and equipment, and sign it as directed.
- Report questionable methods and noncompliance with drawings, specifications, or workmanship requirements to the ARE or Resident Engineer.
- Process inspection requests and maintain their status records.
- Maintain detailed records of contractor work performed on a day-works basis.
Required qualifications
- B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university, with a UAE Ministry of Education equivalency certificate for the degree.
- At least five years of UAE project experience maintaining structures, including bridges and underpasses.
- Computer literate and able to access data, maintain records, and generate reports using computer technology.
- Able to read and interpret drawings and construction specifications, with familiarity in relevant construction processes.
- Strong technical writing and oral and written communication skills in English.
