Material Inspector supporting construction supervision and quality control for an infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Inspection and project duties
- Coordinate with clients and contractor staff to determine and verify project requirements.
- Prepare inspection reports, site records, and documentation before and after inspections.
- Conduct civil and structural tests, including soil compaction, moisture, aggregate, concrete, survey, bolt-torque, and coring tests.
- Inspect construction labor and subcontracted tasks for professional workmanship; verify equipment alignment and balancing.
- Inspect civil materials delivered to site against material inspection requests, report quantity and technical compliance, and sign off requests.
- Maintain complete records of works execution, follow up as needed, and communicate site progress regularly.
- Apply and monitor project quality-control procedures and coordinate works for successful handover.
Required qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- At least five years of related experience on infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge and experience using computer software.
Desired skills
- Strong analytical capabilities and ability to work independently.
- Good oral and written communication, including clear communication with management and staff.
- Ability to handle the physical aspects of field work and commitment to safe work practices.
- UAE experience is preferred.
