Qualified Structural Engineer role with a UAE construction and development organisation, covering residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and design reinforced concrete and steel structures, including foundations, podiums, basements, slabs, columns, shear walls, and transfer elements.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, BBS, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, geotechnical consultants, and project teams to resolve design clashes.
- Obtain structural approvals from municipalities and authorities and respond to their comments.
- Review contractor shop drawings, method statements, and design changes; support value engineering.
- Provide technical support to site teams on structural queries, RFIs, and non-conformance issues.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, safety standards, and quality procedures.
Qualifications and requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; degree must be attested. Master’s in Structural Engineering is preferred.
- 6–10 years of relevant structural design experience, including at least 5 years in the UAE.
- SEU membership or chartered status (ICE, IStructE, or PE) is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of ACI 318, Eurocodes, BS standards, AISC, and UAE municipality and local authority requirements.
- Proficiency in ETABS, SAFE, STAAD.Pro, Tekla, or Robot, plus AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience with mid-rise and high-rise buildings, including post-tensioned slabs and steel framing.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
