The Scaffolding Designer supports engineering, estimation, and sales teams with scaffold design work.
Design and engineering
- Develop safe, efficient, compliant scaffold designs for construction, maintenance, and industrial projects.
- Use CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or CADS A3D Max to produce detailed drawings and 3D models.
- Calculate load-bearing capacities, tie-off points, and structural stability based on site conditions and project scope.
- Survey sites for terrain, access, and environmental factors; collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors.
Safety and project support
- Prepare design reports, risk assessments, method statements, and technical documentation; revise designs based on feedback and changing requirements.
- Apply local and international safety standards, identify hazards, and propose control measures.
- Guide erection and dismantling teams, clarify designs, and review installed scaffolds against approved designs.
- Maintain records of design changes, approvals, and site inspections; keep up with scaffold systems, materials, and safety regulations.
Qualifications and experience
- BSc/BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in scaffolding or construction design.
- Experience with design software such as AutoCAD.
