Role overview

The Stores Controller is responsible for the control, accuracy, and efficiency of store and inventory operations.

The role manages materials from receipt through issuance and maintains accountability and traceability of stock movements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee store and inventory operations across assigned projects; maintain accurate stock records and ERP or manual system updates.
  • Supervise material receiving, inspection, storage, and issuance, and maintain stock movement traceability.
  • Conduct stock audits, cycle counts, and reconciliations; maintain optimal stock levels and report shortages or discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and project or site teams; implement storage systems and warehouse discipline.
  • Guide storekeepers, support internal and external audits, and ensure compliance with procedures, safety, and quality standards.

Experience and qualifications

  • Minimum 5–8 years in stores or inventory management, including at least 2–3 years at supervisory or controller level.
  • Construction, ELV, ICT, MEP, or large-scale project experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control systems and warehouse management practices.
  • ERP experience, such as SAP, Oracle, or similar, is an advantage.
  • Requires leadership, coordination, accuracy, accountability, attention to detail, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple project demands under pressure.
