  • Define integration contracts and service boundaries across HCM and adjacent platforms.
  • Lead modernization and re-platforming strategy, sequencing, migration, and risk management while maintaining running systems.
  • Make and defend consequential tradeoffs with incomplete information, revisiting decisions as evidence changes.

AI architecture and practice

  • Own architecture for AI-powered and agentic HCM capabilities, including shared services, context and retrieval patterns, orchestration, and reuse.
  • Establish evaluation and quality infrastructure, including offline and online evaluations, regression suites, guardrails, fallbacks, cost and latency budgets, and observability.
  • Set responsible AI boundaries for compliance-sensitive paths where errors can have legal or financial consequences.
  • Improve AI engineering practice through patterns, tooling, forums, and consistent high-quality workflows.
  • Assess emerging capabilities and turn useful advances into concrete architecture and workflow changes.

Influence and engineering effectiveness

  • Increase engineering output through design reviews, mentorship, and unblocking difficult problems.
  • Mentor senior and staff-track engineers in technical judgment, scope, and influence.
  • Improve design review quality, test strategy, CI/CD, operational readiness, and code health across teams.
  • Build alignment across engineering, product, and design leadership without positional authority.
  • Represent HCM technical strategy in cross-organizational architecture reviews and to senior leadership.
  • Contribute to hiring, leveling calibration, and technical assessment of senior and staff candidates.
