Role Overview
Serve as a key technical leader and role model within the engineering team.
Design and develop technology aligned with business and technology objectives.
Work on Enterprise Platform Foundations, which provides foundational capabilities for LinkedIn enterprise products.
Responsibilities
- Scale distributed applications using synchronous and asynchronous design patterns.
- Write code and deliver software with speed and quality.
- Produce unit-tested, code-reviewed software that is regularly checked in for continuous integration.
- Coach engineers and promote craftsmanship, collaboration, and a bias for action.
- Collaborate across teams to build scalable platforms, products, services, and tools.
- Support and leverage a shared technical stack with engineering peers.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 11 years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm-related solutions.
- At least 11 years of programming experience in Java or another object-oriented language.
Preferred Technical Experience
- Experience building large-scale distributed systems with high-volume data processing.
- Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, performance tuning, and operational reliability.
- Experience with real-time streaming frameworks such as Kafka, Apache Flink, or Apache Beam.
- Understanding of bottlenecks, data consistency trade-offs, and data integrity at scale.
- Experience designing infrastructure and web services at large scale.
- Strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, software design, and testing patterns.
Workplace
- The role is hybrid and is performed from home and a LinkedIn office on select days based on business needs.
