Role overview

The Flight Software team develops flight-computer vehicle software for airborne and subsea vehicles.

This role supports the Air Dominance and Strike portfolio, including advanced missile programs.

The description also includes a GNC-focused passage describing work on missile and hypersonic autonomous systems; its scope does not fully align with the flight software title and duties.

What you'll do

  • Develop microcontroller software using an RTOS.
  • Develop device drivers, protocols, and APIs for aircraft sensors.
  • Integrate features and sensors into flight-controller software and create aircraft control systems.
  • Create SITL/HITL test fixtures and analyze flight-test results.
  • Support device manufacturing and operational aircraft deployments.

Core requirements

  • 12+ years of industry experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Direct experience with DO-178 standards or similar certifications and with aircraft embedded software or other safety-critical systems.
  • Strong C skills and a background in low-level embedded software architecture, design, and development.
  • Low-level device-driver development experience with microcontrollers and application processors.
  • Comfort with embedded systems tools, compilers, debuggers, and IDEs; familiarity with revision control systems.
  • Familiarity with communications buses and protocols including CAN, ARINC, MIL-STD-1553, UART, SPI, I2C, and Ethernet.
  • Strong debugging skills using instrumentation such as oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.

Team values

  • The team values delivery and iteration, accountable risk-taking, solving real-world problems quickly, and building useful software.

Compensation and benefits

  • The stated salary range is USD 191,000–292,000 yearly; offers may vary based on experience, education, skills, and other business considerations.
  • The posting lists equity, health benefits, retirement contributions, paid leave, family-planning support, meals, and relocation assistance.
