Role Overview
AWS Hardware Engineering seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineer for its Process Quality team.
The role works with ODMs, contract manufacturers, internal hardware and software teams, and upstream component vendors to scale production and meet throughput and quality targets.

Role overview
AWS Hardware Engineering seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineer for its Process Quality team.
The role works with ODMs, contract manufacturers, internal hardware and software teams, and upstream component vendors to scale production and meet throughput and quality targets.
The engineer owns manufacturing launches and process-issue resolution, and serves as a technical contact.
Key responsibilities
- Scale up manufacturing on new products across a global network.
- Lead and oversee quality-control processes across contract manufacturers, original design manufacturers, and component vendors.
- Provide hands-on technical support during new product introductions and launches.
- Investigate and resolve customer escalations through comprehensive root cause analysis.
- Own PFMEAs, Control Plans, and process flows from startup through product end of life.
- Support global operations with regular domestic and international travel, 25–50% of the time.
Basic qualifications
- At least 6 years of high-volume manufacturing operations or sourcing experience.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a similar related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience with server platforms or high-tech hardware.
- At least 5 years of product development experience.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
- Experience managing technical projects.
Compensation
- The stated annual base salary range is USD 159,200–215,300 for Salt Lake City, Austin, and Seattle; final compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and location.
- The compensation package may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units.
