Serve as Senior Civil/Structural Engineer for a power and desalination plant project.
Provide technical assurance over contractor civil and structural design from commencement through completion.
Responsibilities
- Manage, review, verify, and approve civil and structural deliverables for a power generation and desalination facility.
- Assure designs for site development, dynamic equipment foundations, prestressed potable water structures, drainage, earthworks, switching stations, and electrical yards.
- Develop scopes of work and provide technical assurance for engineered elements.
- Provide construction-phase support and resolve complex engineering issues.
Experience and qualifications
- At least 15 years of relevant postgraduate experience, including 10 years in power plant, oil and gas, or other heavy industrial projects.
- Experience in plant site development, roads, earthworks, complex drainage, utility-scale power plants, and heavy turbine and generator foundations.
- Design experience with large prestressed potable water structures, seawater tanks, settlement basins, and nearshore or marine infrastructure.
- Experience with seawater intake and brine discharge systems, nearshore civil works, and coastal protection.
- Experience scoping geotechnical and topographical investigations and interpreting reports.
- Construction-phase technical support on major projects and experience across Concept/Feasibility, FEED, and EPIC phases.
- Familiarity with US and European civil/structural codes and standards.
- Independent problem-solving capability and ability to manage time, cost, and quality across multiple projects.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, fluency in English, and multicultural team experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Chartered Engineer, Professional Engineer, or equivalent status is preferable.
