Sourcing, supplier quality, and strategy

  • Research suppliers across casting, machining, sub-assembly, and C-class commodities; evaluate proposals on cost, lead time, quality, capacity, and risk.
  • Lead supplier selection and onboarding, and negotiate pricing, payment terms, Incoterms, and commercial conditions.

  • Own PPAP and supplier acceptance, remaining accountable for new-part stabilization through PPAP plus three months.
  • Define commodity strategies, segment suppliers, and develop sourcing roadmaps for consolidation, localization, and strategic partnerships.

Cost, capacity, and performance

  • Lead VAVE, cost analysis, and cost-reduction projects; analyze material, labor, and overhead drivers and monitor budgets and timelines.
  • Monitor supplier capacity and utilization, forecast demand, and align capacity, buffer inventory, or alternate sources to maintain supply.
  • Lead new-product and customer-project sourcing and develop suppliers through launch and stabilization.
  • Analyze spend and supplier performance, lead performance reviews and corrective actions, and improve price, lead time, service, and capability.
  • Manage procurement spend, savings targets, and price-performance metrics; analyze market trends and recommend risk mitigation or alternative solutions.
  • Apply manufacturing-process knowledge and drive continuous improvement with suppliers.

Qualifications

  • B.Tech/M.Tech degree in a Supply Chain or Management discipline.
  • 8–12 years of experience.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt is an added advantage.
