The Laundry Attendant is responsible for cleaning, drying, folding, and organizing linens, garments, and other laundry items.
The role supports smooth facility operations and ensures cleanliness standards are consistently met.
Key responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and press laundry according to fabric type and care instructions.
- Operate and maintain commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect items for stains, damage, or special treatment requirements and treat stains using suitable techniques and products.
- Keep the laundry area clean and organized, following hygiene and safety standards.
- Track linen, detergent, and supply inventory and report shortages.
- Handle guest or client laundry requests promptly and professionally, if applicable.
- Follow lost-and-found procedures and assist with housekeeping or other operational tasks when required.
Key skills and competencies
- Previous laundry, housekeeping, or similar experience is preferred.
- Basic English reading, writing, and speaking ability.
- Basic computer knowledge.
Work environment and schedule
- The role is based in a fast-paced setting such as a commercial laundry facility.
- The work requires lifting up to 20–25 kg and working in warm environments.
- The schedule is shift-based and may include weekends or holidays depending on business needs.
Requirements
- Basic English reading, writing, and speaking ability.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Previous experience in laundry, housekeeping, or similar roles is preferred.
