Role overview
Responsible for installation, configuration, and maintenance of software, printers, scanners, and peripherals, as well as computer security and lab supplies.
Lab operations and facilities
- Manage daily lab maintenance, layout, machines, racks, space, high-value inventory, shipping, and receiving.
- Conduct safety and security audits and comply with audit requirements.
- Monitor chilled water, power busbar, IT network infrastructure, facility status, fluid chemistry, and telemetry.
- Coordinate testing and maintenance with Corporate Services and external vendors; correct facility conditions that fall outside required specifications.
- Assist with liquid-cooled system setup and maintenance, including filling, draining, flushing, and maintaining cooling-loop flow and pressure.
Systems and logistics
- Mechanically assemble, experiment with, upgrade, and maintain systems for lab management and customers.
- Track, sort, and prepare components for assembly and coordinate assembly logistics across sites; hardware transport to other campuses may be needed.
- Plan and assist with hardware deployments, bring-ups, and upgrades, and maintain the lab environment for customers.
- Monitor and report system and facility usage, load, and performance.
- Provide input to improve lab and HPC cluster operations, workflows, and utilization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related degree.
- Five years of experience.
- IT background.
