Software Engineering Manager

Opportunity

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain front-end and back-end web applications.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to refine requirements and deliver features.
• Implement and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end automated tests.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production performance and reliability issues.
• Improve development processes, tooling, and architecture.
• Lead development and adoption of cloud-first solutions that deliver business outcomes and innovation.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of Python and 5 years of JavaScript experience.
• At least 3 years with another major programming language, such as Java, C++, or PHP.
• At least 3 years of expert-level AWS infrastructure experience, including EC2, RDS, load balancers, and S3.
• Proficiency provisioning AWS resources with Terraform and infrastructure as code.
• At least 3 years of relational database experience, such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL; experience writing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Ability to work independently; strong communication, business acumen, and enterprise knowledge.
• Experience guiding and mentoring development teams, setting coding standards, conducting code reviews, and collaborating across functions.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools; experience prototyping and operating at scale.
• Ability to analyze complex technical issues, identify root causes, and troubleshoot, debug, and optimize mobile and web applications.

Preferred skills

• Experience with NoSQL databases, especially AWS-native DynamoDB and Neptune.
• Hands-on AWS containerization experience with EKS and OpenSearch.
• Experience with a modern JavaScript framework such as React, Vue, or Angular.
• Knowledge of GxP processes and documentation.
