Role purpose

Leads the operating rhythm, governance, and cross-functional execution supporting the Canadian commercial organization and broader LOC.

Translates enterprise and LOC priorities into an integrated operating plan, accountability mechanisms, and timely decisions.

Acts as operational partner to the Head of Commercial & Marketing Operations and business and cross-functional leaders; has no direct reports and leads through matrix and project leadership.

Does not own Business Unit strategy, performance analytics, or customer-engagement content.

Operating model and governance

  • Lead annual and quarterly planning, leadership agendas, monthly commercial performance reviews, and cross-functional governance.
  • Manage governance calendars, objectives, pre-reads, decision-ready materials, action logs, and follow-up.
  • Maintain initiative scope, milestones, dependencies, resources, risks, issues, decisions, and accountable owners.
  • Partner with leaders to prioritize trade-offs against LOC objectives, patient impact, business value, capacity, and compliance.

Accountability and performance

  • Establish monthly scorecard reviews with Insights & Analytics, Marketing, Sales, and other stakeholders.
  • Apply decision-making and RACI frameworks to clarify ownership and decision rights.
  • Set clear commitments, owners, timelines, and escalation paths; challenge unsupported performance narratives.
  • Track governance decisions and actions to closure and escalate barriers with options and recommendations.

Launch readiness and programmes

  • Execute the enterprise Launch Excellence framework for Takeda Canada launches with the MCE Launch Excellence team and local Business Unit leaders.
  • Integrate launch governance, workstreams, milestones, dependencies, escalation paths, and performance measures.
  • Lead cross-functional launch teams, maintain accountability to roadmaps, and coordinate launch reviews.
  • Transition launch leadership to Senior Marketing Engagement Leads at the agreed stage and maintain continuity of plans and decisions.
  • Lead other high-impact, multi-workstream priorities and maintain delivery to plan.

Insights and operational excellence

  • Partner with Insights & Analytics to evolve KPI scorecards, operational health measures, execution-to-plan indicators, and management reporting.
  • Translate data, risks, and cross-functional input into concise recommendations and decision-ready narratives; underlying analytics remain with Insights & Analytics.
  • Coordinate business cases and launch-review presentations, aligning recommendations, risks, assumptions, and decisions.
  • Use AI and automation responsibly with human oversight and privacy and compliance safeguards.
  • Apply root-cause analysis, improve processes and meeting effectiveness, coordinate compliance documentation and approvals, and monitor operational risks and mitigations.

Experience and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, MSc, and/or relevant certification such as PMP preferred.
  • 7–10+ years in commercial operations, business operations, commercial excellence, strategy execution, or an equivalent role in a matrixed, regulated industry.
  • Pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience preferred; experience running operating cadences, governance, planning cycles, and cross-functional programmes required.
  • Complex launch-readiness or milestone-driven programme experience with multiple functions and senior stakeholders strongly preferred.
  • Strong influence, stakeholder management, facilitation, conflict resolution, judgment, and ability to navigate ambiguity and hold stakeholders accountable.
  • Digital, analytics, and AI literacy; exceptional written and verbal communication and ability to present complex recommendations to senior leaders.
  • English fluency required; French fluency is a strong asset.

Location and work arrangement

  • The position is based at the Toronto, Ontario head office and has a hybrid arrangement requiring at least two days per week.
  • Approximately 10% domestic and/or international travel.

Base salary

  • Annual base salary range is CAD 149,000–198,000; final compensation may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and work location.

Reporting and interfaces

Reports to the Head of Commercial & Marketing Operations and works with Canada Leadership, Business Unit leaders, Insights & Analytics, Marketing, Sales, Launch Excellence, Finance, DD&T, Compliance, Medical, Legal, Regulatory, and other partners.
