Responsibilities
- Design and operate platform components and hybrid approaches combining LLM semantic understanding with personalization and ranking signals.
- Prototype and productionize LLM features including conversation starters, natural-language query understanding, multi-turn dialogue, and contextual recommendations.
- Optimize inference latency, cost, and quality; build evaluation and quality gates for relevance, personalization, diversity, and safety.
- Contribute code and reviews, support on-call operations and root cause analysis, and improve reliability of Tier-1 customer-facing AI systems.
- Integrate partner systems spanning inference infrastructure, feature storage, and experimentation platforms.
Basic qualifications
- At least five years of non-internship professional software development experience and five years programming in at least one language.
- At least five years leading design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience mentoring, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
Preferred qualifications
- At least five years across the software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, builds, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
Base salary ranges
- Annual base salary ranges listed include $168,100–$227,400 for Seattle, $193,300–$261,500 for Sunnyvale, and $184,900–$250,200 for New York; compensation depends on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
- Compensation package also includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units; benefits are offered.
