The engineer owns software through architecture, design, deployment, and release, building systems that support delivery provider programs.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, high-performance, reliable software.
- Contribute across the full software development life cycle, including scoping, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Solve complex retail-environment challenges with technical design and innovative customer-focused solutions.
- Review code, provide useful feedback, and uphold software quality standards.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, product managers, and engineering managers on last-mile technology solutions.
- Deliver quality results independently in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively.
- Learn Amazon's logistics network and work across teams to build optimized systems.
Basic qualifications
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Programming experience with at least one software programming language.
Preferred qualifications
- At least 3 years of full software development life-cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
