Cloud 9 Networks seeks an ELV/Fiber Technician to support data center infrastructure and related technical work. The role covers installation, termination, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and documentation of fiber and ELV cabling.
Responsibilities
- Install, route, dress, label, and terminate fiber and ELV cables in data center facilities.
- Install and maintain fiber/copper structured cabling, patch panels, racks, and cable management systems.
- Perform fiber termination, splicing, testing, troubleshooting, cable tracing, identification, labeling, and connectivity checks.
- Assist with ELV systems and installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
- Follow cabling standards; read rack layouts, cable schedules, floor plans, and technical drawings.
- Record installations and test results; coordinate with operations, engineering, and project teams.
- Follow security, safety, access, and operational procedures and minimize disruption to data center operations.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience as an ELV, fiber, data center, or structured cabling technician.
- Hands-on fiber and structured cabling installation experience; knowledge of racks, patch panels, cable trays, cable management, and labeling.
- Basic knowledge of ELV systems and data center infrastructure; ability to read technical drawings, rack layouts, and cable schedules.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and ability to work in a controlled data center environment.
- Willingness to work shifts or on-call schedules when required.
- ITI, diploma, or relevant technical qualification is preferred; data center and UAE experience are preferred.
Preferred experience
- Experience in data centers, telecom facilities, network infrastructure, structured cabling, or ELV projects is preferred.
Workplace
- Work location is in person; the role is based in data center facilities.
