Site Engineer

Role overview

Site execution and quality

• Lead foremen and teams in carrying out work to IFC drawings, shop drawings, and project specifications.
• Review method statements and detailed procedures with foremen before work begins.
• Inspect reinforcement, formwork, and concrete pours, including BBS implementation, cover, spacing, and compaction.
• Supervise plastering, tiling, waterproofing, and painting against approved samples and project specifications.
• Coordinate QA/QC inspections and tests; maintain non-conformance, site instruction, and corrective action records.
• Verify delivered materials against approved submittals and ensure proper storage and handling.
• Coordinate sequencing and deliveries with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitor subcontractor foremen’s productivity and provide technical guidance.

Coordination and reporting

• Prepare daily reports on progress, manpower, materials, weather, incidents, and technical challenges.
• Support Project Engineers with RFIs, site instructions, and variation requests.
• Maintain setting-out points, benchmarks, and temporary works as designs or site constraints change.
• Coordinate civil, architectural, and MEP interfaces to prevent clashes and rework.
• Maintain as-built documentation and help update drawings for approved changes.
• Assist with material testing, soil compaction, concrete strength tests, and other site quality activities.
• Provide the planning team with timely progress updates and flag delays or critical-path constraints.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• At least 5 years of building construction experience, including at least 4 years in Dubai.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, structural and finishing works, and local authority requirements.
