Site Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead site execution from mobilisation through handover.
• Coordinate and sign off shop, workshop, and as-built drawings against design and consultant requirements.
• Maintain the MS Project programme, track progress, flag slippage, and drive recovery plans.
• Manage RFIs, method statements, inspection requests, material submittals, and daily and weekly reports.
• Coordinate joinery, metalwork, MEP, finishes, and FF&E packages with the main contractor and consultant.
• Inspect quality, conduct snagging, close NCRs, and ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Manage subcontractors, labour, productivity, material use, and site logistics.
• Enforce HSE requirements and maintain a safe, organised site.
• Attend site meetings and act as the primary technical contact for the client, consultant, and main contractor.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of commercial fit-out site experience, including at least one large-scale end-to-end project.
• Able to interpret and sign off architectural, structural, joinery, and MEP coordination drawings.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Project; comfortable with MS Office and site reporting tools.
• Fluent spoken and written English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Understands fit-out finishes, joinery, MEP coordination, and local authority and consultant approvals.
• UAE experience with recognised consultants and main contractors is strongly preferred.
• A valid UAE driving licence is preferred.
• Able to work extended hours during critical project phases.

Compensation and benefits

• Pay is AED 5,000–20,000 per month.
• Benefits include medical coverage, annual flights, and end-of-service benefits.

Workplace

• Work is in person.
• Projects are in the UAE, with exposure to projects across the UAE and KSA.
