Objective The objective of this position contains several duties though out the packing facility, Stacking, lifting, dumping fruit, picking up fruit from the floor, cleaning, crawling in tight places, working in wet areas for a long period of time, packing, sorting and any other duties that are assigned under the direction of the Line labor supervisor. Qualifications • Able to lift 40 pounds overhead repetitively over work shift • Ability to communicate and work well with others • Perform repetitive functions paying attention to detail • Able to work in constant cold temperature (35 degrees) • Ability to work with and around water for a long period of time • Perform all assigned duties in a proper and timely manner • Ability to follow and obey management instruction Elements of Position • Separate and stack packed boxes • Maintain a clean work area free of safety hazards • Picking up fruit from the floor • Dumping fruit • Cleaning • Working in wet area for a long period of time • Packing • Sorting Physical requirements • Standing / walking, crouching, stooping, twisting, balancing, leg/foot use, reaching, overhead extension, handling, pushing/pulling (40 lbs.), lifting carrying (40 lbs.) • Senses: Speaking, hearing, sight (far, near, color) Environmental factors • Work is performed in pack line room. Room is well ventilated with moderate noise, good lighting, moderate paper dust, and standard room temperature Safety factors • Hazards encountered include lifting packed boxes, roller belt (chain), cold temperature, forklift traffic Safety Equipment • Gloves; Aprons; Hair restraints; pallets; totes; pickup sticks; volume filler, Sorting tables; Conveyor belts; bin dumper; tote dumper; bins; strap gun; strap; clips Equipment Used to Perform Job • Strap Gun • Pallet jack • Ride on Sweeper Scrubber This position can encompass duties other than the specified duties listed above. If necessary, alternative duties can be assigned at the discretion of the supervisor.
