Required Skills and Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in shipping, logistics, and import/export operations.
- Knowledge of customs procedures and shipping documentation.
- Familiarity with freight forwarding, Incoterms, and customs clearance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and ERP systems such as SAP.
- Strong coordination, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and meet strict deadlines.
- Knowledge of the UAE and GCC region and cross-border customs processes.
- Up-to-date knowledge of geopolitical conditions affecting shipping routes, airlines, and shipping lines.
- In-depth knowledge of international Incoterms and payment terms, including Letters of Credit.
- Experience handling sea, air, courier, and road freight, including GCC free-zone and cross-border shipments.
- Capability to manage zero-demurrage and storage KPIs for imports.
Shipping and Logistics Duties
- Coordinate shipment bookings, collections, transportation, and deliveries.
- Prepare and verify commercial invoices, packing lists, Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, Certificates of Origin, and delivery orders.
- Coordinate with customs authorities, clearing agents, and freight forwarders.
- Prepare and follow up on customs declarations and clearance documents.
- Ensure compliance with applicable customs and free-zone requirements.
- Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, transport companies, and clearing agents.
- Follow up on shipment delays, container movements, and delivery schedules.
