The role is for an experienced ServiceNow Technical Architect with hands-on database migration experience, especially Oracle migrations.
The ideal candidate has personally participated in or led an end-to-end Oracle migration, preferably to another database platform such as RaptorDB or a self-hosted environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead architecture and execution of Oracle database migration projects.
- Design migration strategies, data mapping and transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
- Assess Oracle environments, schemas, tables, dependencies, and data structures.
- Plan and execute migrations to RaptorDB or other target databases.
- Protect data integrity, completeness, performance, and security throughout migration.
- Coordinate with ServiceNow, database, infrastructure, application, and integration teams.
- Troubleshoot data compatibility and performance issues.
- Manage testing, validation, cutover, and post-migration support.
- Prepare technical documentation, migration plans, architecture diagrams, and rollback strategies.
Required experience and skills
- 8+ years of IT experience and strong experience as a ServiceNow Technical Architect or Senior Technical Consultant.
- Strong ServiceNow technical architecture and integration experience.
- Hands-on Oracle database migration experience, including at least one completed end-to-end migration; Oracle administration or support alone is insufficient.
- Database-to-database migration experience, preferably Oracle to RaptorDB or a self-hosted database.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle, SQL, schemas, data structures, dependencies, and migration challenges.
- Experience with data migration, ETL or transformation, validation, reconciliation, performance optimization, APIs, integrations, and middleware.
- Strong troubleshooting, technical problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
