Role overview

Framework and planning

• Review organizational structure, critical services, existing continuity arrangements, policies, and risk information; identify applicable requirements.
• Develop and maintain the BCM framework, governance, policy, objectives, roles, scope, lifecycle, reporting, and continual improvement.
• Plan and facilitate BCM workshops and interviews with business units, process owners, support functions, and stakeholders.
• Lead BIA to identify critical activities, dependencies, impacts, recovery priorities, and objectives.
• Assess continuity risks, disruption scenarios, vulnerabilities, controls, and treatment actions; develop continuity strategies and recovery options.
• Develop, review, and validate BCPs covering activation, escalation, roles, communications, response, recovery, and return to normal.
• Develop templates, tools, and supporting documentation; deliver awareness sessions and workshops.
• Present deliverables to management and incorporate stakeholder feedback.

Exercises, monitoring, and reporting

• Develop periodic BCM exercise and simulation programmes based on organizational risks, critical activities, and BCPs.
• Design and facilitate tabletop exercises, simulations, and other continuity exercises.
• Prepare exercise reports covering observations, strengths, gaps, lessons learned, and corrective actions.
• Prepare monitoring and performance reports on implementation progress, BCP status, exercise results, open actions, and improvement priorities.
• Track corrective actions and support business owners in updating BCPs and related documentation.
• Maintain document control, version management, and records of workshops, exercises, validations, and management decisions.
• Provide knowledge transfer and coaching to client personnel to support sustainable BCM capability.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Continuity, Risk Management, Emergency Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 7 years of relevant BCM experience.
• Proven experience developing and implementing BCM frameworks, policies, and BCPs.
• Hands-on experience in BIA, risk assessments, continuity strategy and plans, exercises and simulations, and awareness and stakeholder workshops.
• Experience preparing executive-level reports and presenting recommendations to senior management.
• Experience in complex, multi-department organizations.

Knowledge and competencies

• Strong knowledge of ISO 22301:2019, ISO 22313, and the 2024 amendment to ISO 22301.
• Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, interviewing, planning, coordination, document management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate business processes, critical activities, and dependencies into practical recovery requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal English; Arabic capability is an advantage.
• Strong report writing, presentation, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines.
• Ability to communicate BCM concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications

• Saudi Arabia or GCC experience is highly preferred.
• CBCI, MBCI, or equivalent professional BCM certification is preferred.
• ISO 22301 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor certification is an advantage.
