Description About the role: Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Flight Operations team as a Senior Technical Writer to be based in Doha, Qatar.

As a Senior Technical Writer, you will be responsible for authoring, reviewing, and maintaining Flight Operations documentation to ensure accuracy, clarity, and full compliance with QCAA and EASA regulatory requirements. You will support safe and compliant operations by producing high quality operational manuals and controlled documents, and by assessing the operational and regulatory impact of changes prior to implementation.

The position requires close collaboration with operational stakeholders to perform impact of change analysis, ensuring amendments to Operational and Training documentation are properly evaluated, documented, approved, and communicated. The role also ensures documentation is developed and controlled in accordance with approved documentation systems, standards, and timelines, supporting audit readiness and continuous operational compliance.

Key contributions include; structured technical authoring, regulatory alignment, effective change management documentation, and maintaining the integrity of controlled manuals critical to flight operations.

Specific Responsibilities For The Role Include

• Provide technical guidance in producing company documentation from any approved application (CDMS, Frame Maker, ADOC, Acrobat, etc.).
• Check written texts before they are published to ensure they are accurate, read well and follow in-house style.
• Review and test software and hardware to ensure that current documentation is accurate, identifying problems and suggesting updates.
• Coordinate with EFB and Library to produce and distribute documentation.
• Ensure Qatar Airways Publication system is applied and all approval records meet the required standards.
• Ensure Operational Manuals are accurate as per the regulations and standards and produced within the required time frame.

Qualification

About You The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent preferably in Liberal Arts, English major with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience.
• Certification in Communication Technology and one year Airline Structured Technical Writing experience.
• Experience in Web based Technologies (XML / SGML / HTML).
• Proven experience in regulatory compliance.
• In depth knowledge of Flight Operations Documentation.
• In depth knowledge of Airbus (ADOC) and Boeing (FTID) XML authoring.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
