Senior Technical Design Architect

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural technical design and delivery of hospitality and hotel developments from concept through construction
• Oversee the development of architectural designs from Schematic Design through Design Development, Tender, and IFC documentation
• Review, direct, and approve architectural drawings, technical details, and construction documentation prepared by external consultants.
• Lead multidisciplinary coordination between architectural, structural, MEP, interior design, and specialist consultants
• Ensure designs are technically robust, coordinated, buildable, and aligned with project objectives and hospitality brand standards
• Lead the selection and approval of architectural materials, finishes, and construction systems, ensuring quality, durability, operational performance, and cost efficiency
• Review and approve architectural specifications, finish schedules, and technical documentation
• Evaluate and approve material samples, mock-ups, technical submissions, and contractor submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications and design intent
• Review contractor shop drawings, RFIs, and value engineering proposals, ensuring technical integrity is maintained throughout construction
• Provide technical leadership during procurement and construction, resolving complex design and construction challenges
• Conduct design reviews and regular site inspections to ensure construction quality and compliance with approved drawings and specifications
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC), local authority requirements, and international hospitality operator standards
• Mentor junior architects and promote technical excellence across the design team
• Work collaboratively with Development, Project Delivery, and Construction teams to ensure successful project execution from concept through completion.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture (Master's Degree preferred)
• Minimum 15 years' post-qualification experience in architectural design and technical delivery
• Proven experience delivering luxury hospitality, hotel and resort development
• Demonstrated experience leading projects from Schematic Design through Design Development, Tender, IFC, and construction
• Extensive knowledge of architectural detailing, construction methodologies, building systems, and material specifications
• Proven expertise in architectural material selection, finish schedules, specifications and technical documentation
• Significant experience reviewing and approving technical submittals, shop drawings, material submissions, mock-ups, and RFIs.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, buildability, quality assurance and technical compliance.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary consultants and coordinating complex project teams
• Strong knowledge of the Saudi Building Code and KSA authority approval processes is highly desirable
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and BIM workflows.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Previous experience working in Saudi Arabia or the GCC is preferred

• Experience with leading real estate developers or internationally recognised architectural consultancies.
• Proven track record delivering luxury hotels, resorts, branded residences and mixed-use hospitality developments.
