Set architecture and technical direction for services that bring AI research and models into production across Diligent’s product suite.
Partner with AI researchers, product managers, and Staff Engineers, leading through influence across the Platform AI organization.
Key responsibilities
- Drive architecture for ML/LLM systems across multiple teams and build secure, scalable, fault-tolerant AWS Serverless solutions.
- Prototype AI technologies and guide build-versus-buy decisions; lead architecture discussions across the organization.
- Mentor engineers and Applied Scientists, and collaborate with Product to turn AI strategy into delivery roadmaps.
- Build and scale OpenSearch and semantic/vector search for discovery, RAG, and AI-driven product features.
- Help teams navigate ambiguity and deliver successfully.
Required experience and skills
- 10–15+ years developing and owning high-scale, secure cloud applications, including Staff-level work across multiple teams.
- Strong Python proficiency, data science libraries including pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn, and SOLID principles.
- AWS infrastructure-as-code experience using CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
- Hands-on LLM experience with prompt engineering, fine-tuning, model evaluation, and RAG.
- Hands-on search experience including OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, semantic search, and vector embeddings.
- Experience taking AI solutions from research prototype to production and mentoring senior/staff engineers.
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or a related field.
Workplace
- The role follows a hybrid work model, with at least 50% onsite work expected for employees within commuting distance of a Diligent office.
