The role suits an engineering or computer science professional moving into client-facing consulting focused on software development R&D.
Role responsibilities
- Interview client personnel and gather information to support SR&ED claims.
- Assess technologies, products, and operations to identify qualifying R&D activities.
- Discuss software and computer engineering work with client technical teams and prepare supporting technical summaries.
- Manage multiple engagements, timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
- Stay informed about technology trends and changes to SR&ED legislation.
Qualifications
- BASc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Software, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, a similar field, or comparable training/experience.
- At least 2 years of software development or IT technology R&D experience.
- Strong knowledge of software and IT terminology, with client communication, prioritization, and delivery skills.
- Experience in SR&ED or another R&D government tax incentive program is an asset, not mandatory.
Compensation
- Ontario base salary range is $61,000 to $80,000; the position may also be eligible for bonus awards.
