Senior Specialist- Scheduling & Transportation Information

Job Purpose

Strategy

• Schedule urban, feeder, intercity, cost-sharing and seasonal bus routes in line with RTA/PTA
• policies to align network operations with strategic coverage and service objectives.
• Solve scheduling-related issues innovatively and provide workable solutions to complaints
• raised about services and schedules.
• Engage PTA stakeholders, Marketing and Corporate Communication, and committees to
• prioritize schedules and improvements, ensuring agreed timelines, OTP and CRM reporting,
• and alignment with efficiency and major event requirements.

Operations

• Analyze bus running-time data and other factors affecting public transport operations to
• support day-to-day decisions on timetable adjustments and resource use.
• Review existing and proposed schedules to improve service quality and equalize driver work
• hours in coordination with operations representatives.
• Coordinate with OCC and bus operations for trip analysis, monitoring of schedule adherence
• and implementation of agreed service enhancement actions.
• Coordinate with the scheduling system vendor when performance issues arise to maintain
• stable, reliable scheduling system operations.
• Create and maintain public bus network and operations databases in the scheduling system,
• and provide performance, OTP, and service change reports to PTA stakeholders and CEO
• forums.

Product And Process Improvement

• Streamline complex scheduling processes and procedures using analytical thinking to make
• them more efficient, consistent and easier to apply across all route types.
• Initiate and support tasks and projects that improve scheduling approaches for the transport
• network and enhance overall efficiency.
• Use insights from data analysis, complaints and stakeholder feedback to propose
• enhancements to scheduling processes and tools.
• Evaluate service reliability by comparing planned and actual running times, conducting field
• surveys and route recces, and analyzing OCC data to recommend improvements and support
• OTP dashboards.
• Update GIS data related to public transport activities with concerned authorities and maintain
• integrated geospatial databases that support planning, scheduling, and passenger information
• decisions.

Physical Working Conditions

• Work primarily in an office environment using scheduling systems, with regular coordination
• meetings with OCC, bus operations and vendors that may require occasional on-site or virtual
• sessions.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree/ Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering or Industrial Engineering.

Experience

• 6+ years in case of Master's degree (8+ years in case of Bachelor’s degree).
