Senior Software Engineer, New Verticals

The role

What you will own

• Direct agents building secure salon payment services for checkout, booking deposits, no-show fees, tips, refunds, reconciliation, and settlement.
• Own integrations with salon platforms, payment providers, financial partners, and other third parties.
• Write specifications, acceptance criteria, test suites, and evals to verify agent output with evidence.
• Design and operate the agentic development workflow, from agent roles and context to checks, merging, and deployment.
• Build agents for client questions, booking and payment exceptions, reconciliation, and other salon or internal workflows.
• Set permissions, human approvals, guardrails, observability, audit trails, and fallbacks for agents handling sensitive actions or data.
• Improve speed, reliability, security, and cost, including LLM and agent costs.
• Work with product, operations, salon partners, and booking-platform partners to grow beauty businesses.

Who you are and what you need

• Already use agents as the default way to build, rather than as an add-on to hand-coding.
• Have shipped production software in a fast-moving, high-growth environment; take ownership and make decisions with incomplete information.
• Fluent in English, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Have production experience with LLM APIs, tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic workflows.
• Understand REST APIs, microservices, asynchronous processing, distributed systems, databases, data modelling, and database design.
• Have experience with payment providers, booking or POS systems, or complex third-party integrations.
• Understand AI risks including hallucinations, prompt injection, data leakage, non-deterministic behaviour, and unsafe tool execution, and how to contain them.
• Have experience with automated testing, evals, observability, debugging, and performance optimisation.

Nice to have

• Payments, fintech, beauty and wellness technology, booking platforms, or high-growth marketplace experience.
• Payment gateways, transaction processing, settlement, reconciliation, or chargeback experience.
• Building agents that work with APIs, databases, internal tools, or operational workflows.
• Model evaluation, prompt and context management, AI observability, guardrails, or LLM cost optimisation.
• Running multiple coding agents in parallel or building tooling and CI to keep them safe.
• Vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, or retrieval systems.
• Cloud platforms, containerised services, CI/CD, or infrastructure-as-code.
• Familiarity with PCI DSS, GDPR, and secure development practices.
