Team and role

Consumer Growth Experience Engineering builds platforms and end-to-end experiences across push, email, app, and web.

The team uses personalization, segmentation, and experimentation to support customer discovery, onboarding, conversion, activation, and long-term value.

The role leads engineering work and delivery in collaboration with product, analytics, design, and platform partners.

What you'll do

  • Own quarterly team goals, lead engineers through ambiguous problems, and support delivery.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation, technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology, and business issues.
  • Monitor team systems, escalate availability issues, and support operational and on-call work.
  • Set and improve code-review and design standards; advocate for them through writing and technical talks.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to develop team talent.

What we look for

  • Lead significant React Native or native mobile initiatives, including architecture, cross-functional launches, and production reliability.
  • Work across React Native and Swift/Kotlin boundaries; debug platform-specific issues and improve tooling, CI/CD, and release processes.
  • Implement mobile experimentation, feature flags, and analytics instrumentation for safe rollouts and measurable impact.
  • Ship web apps with declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue.
  • Be proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript and have 4+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Design, build, and launch scalable backend systems using technologies such as Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
  • Define technical plans and extensible designs, write high-quality code, and make significant changes safely in large codebases.
  • Own professional growth, seek feedback, and communicate effectively with a global engineering team.
  • Equivalent practical experience or a bachelor's degree in a related field is required.

Compensation

  • Annual base pay is $195,000–$255,000 in CA, WA, NY, NJ, and CT, and $173,000–$233,000 in other U.S. states.

Workplace

  • Affirm describes itself as remote-first; most roles can be performed almost anywhere within the country of hire, though some positions may require occasional office work.
  • New hires are invited to attend an in-person onboarding experience.

Benefits

  • Benefits include health coverage, flexible spending stipends, time off, holidays, and an employee stock purchase plan.
