About the role
Lead a portfolio of ZT1 Labs initiatives in a hands-on builder role, with direct product ownership and no direct people-management responsibilities.
Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for new products and platforms, partnering with technical, design, analytics, revenue, and business teams.
Work with the CEO and executive team to turn high-level ideas into durable, scalable businesses.
Product strategy and delivery
- Build understanding of users, merchants, partners, market trends, and product and technology shifts to identify high-impact innovation opportunities.
- Define problem spaces, product vision, strategic narrative, roadmap, and business-impact success metrics with senior leaders.
- Drive new products and platforms from discovery and validation through MVP, launch, and iteration.
- Own UI/UX, use AI tools to prototype, and write customer-facing copy across onboarding and in-product guidance.
- Analyze customer behavior and funnels; design experiments, measure results, and iterate.
- Align ZT1 and core product roadmaps with cross-functional teams to support quality, cohesive user experience, and business results.
Leadership and product craft
- Lead cross-functional work involving engineering, design, data, risk, capital, operations, revenue, legal, and compliance.
- Advise the CEO and executive team on product bets, prioritization, decisions, risks, and tradeoffs; maintain alignment through clear communication and documentation.
- Establish product patterns, decision frameworks, and execution standards that make zero-to-one work repeatable and scalable.
- Model strong product judgment, build the ZT1 culture and operating model, and influence peers without direct management.
Experience and skills
- Approximately 8–10+ years of product management experience and a strong record of shipping and scaling consumer-facing or platform products.
- Experience owning technical software products end to end and explaining their business impact.
- Direct experience leading zero-to-one or highly ambiguous product areas with meaningful outcomes.
- Experience coordinating engineering, data, design, and other teams without direct authority.
- Hands-on fluency with AI tools for prototyping, design, content, and analysis; able to evaluate and refine their output.
- Able to work directly across design, analytics, and content tasks; strong communication, influence, judgment, organization, and ownership.
- Commercial instincts to contribute to pitches, negotiations, and contract evaluations when product work intersects with business strategy.
- Founder or early-stage startup experience is a plus.
Compensation
- Annual base pay range in Canada is CAD 209,000–269,000; total compensation may also include equity, monthly spending stipends, and benefits.
- This posting is for an existing vacancy.
Location and work arrangement
- Remote role open to candidates residing in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan.
- Affirm is remote-first; some positions may occasionally require office work, and new hires are invited to in-person onboarding.
Benefits
- Affirm covers medical, dental, and vision premiums for employees and dependents.
- Benefits include monthly spending stipends, flexible time off, holiday calendars, and an employee stock purchase plan.
