About Commure

Commure is building an AI-native healthcare platform spanning clinical documentation, patient workflows, and revenue cycle management.

The platform integrates with more than 60 electronic health record systems and supports healthcare organizations across the United States.

Role overview

The Senior Software Engineer will join the Air Billing team, which owns claims, appointments, and payments-posting surfaces in the practice management product.

The role focuses on high-volume, data-dense workflows, healthcare integrations, and AI-enabled productivity improvements.

The engineer will own features end-to-end and see them deployed to billing operators in production.

What you will do

  • Own features across claims, appointments, and payments posting from design through production rollout.
  • Write production-ready code with meaningful tests, observability, clean interfaces, and scalable data models.
  • Partner with product, design, and billing operations to solve biller workflow problems.
  • Build dashboards, logging, and alerting for fast detection and root-cause analysis of production issues.
  • Review code and designs for correctness, performance, and consistent user experience.
  • Help establish technical standards for components, APIs, data fetching, testing, and observability.
  • Help onboard and level up teammates.

What you have

  • At least 5 years of full-stack application development experience with a record of shipping production features end-to-end.
  • Strong frontend skills and the ability to diagnose rendering issues in data-dense screens.
  • API and data-layer fundamentals, including backend endpoints with filtering and pagination over sizable datasets.
  • Sound technical judgment for feature-level tradeoffs and risk management.
  • Debugging and observability experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting.
  • Clear communication, ownership, bias for action, and customer focus.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with healthcare billing data, including EDI X12 transactions, clearinghouses, ERAs, EOBs, and denial codes.
  • Experience shipping LLM-powered features into production workflows.
  • Exposure to analytical or OLAP stores alongside transactional databases.
  • Product intuition and experience influencing UX or UI decisions.
  • Experience in regulated industries with attention to security and compliance.

Security and compliance

  • Employees must follow organizational information security policies and report confirmed or potential security events or risks.
  • Employees must attest to applicable information security requirements upon hire and annually.

Compensation

  • The stated compensation range is $180,000 to $230,000.
