Senior Resident Engineer

About the role

Project delivery and supervision

• Lead Resident Engineers and coordinate design, procurement, construction activities, and site works.
• Deliver projects in line with schedules, milestones, budgets, quality standards, safety requirements, and contractual requirements.
• Monitor progress and compliance with specifications, approved drawings, UAE codes and standards, and contracts.
• Conduct site inspections, progress reviews, coordination meetings, and contractor and stakeholder meetings.
• Review contractor performance and identify delays, quality concerns, technical issues, and contractual risks.
• Support resolution of technical, contractual, and construction issues.
• Maintain project drawings, schedules, progress reports, inspection reports, and other records.
• Coordinate project teams and stakeholders and monitor executed work quality.
• Maintain health and safety focus across site activities.
• Prepare and review reports and update senior management on progress, risks, and issues.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• 15 or more years of relevant professional experience, including substantial UAE experience.
• At least five years of experience in a Resident Engineer role.
• Strong experience on UAE construction projects and knowledge of UAE codes, standards, and construction.
• Experience managing Resident Engineers and site supervision teams.
• Strong leadership, team management, communication, negotiation, coordination, report-writing, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage schedules, milestones, quality requirements, safety performance, and project issues.
• FIDIC knowledge or experience is preferred.

Technical skills

• Revit, BIM, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) are mandatory.
• Proficiency in relevant construction and project documentation and reporting tools is expected.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts is required; FIDIC experience is preferred.
