Senior Procurement Engineer - MEP

Overview

Job Summary

Sourcing & Vendor Management

• Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers and vendors for MEP materials and equipment
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing, quality assurance, and timely delivery

Procurement Planning

• Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to develop procurement plans based on project requirements and specifications
• Analyze drawings and BOQs to determine material specifications and quantities

Cost Negotiation & Budget Control

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost-effective procurement
• Monitor and control procurement costs in line with approved project budgets

Quality Assurance

• Ensure all procured materials and equipment meet required quality standards and project specifications
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams to conduct inspections and ensure compliance

Logistics & Delivery Management

• Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for timely delivery of materials and equipment to project sites
• Track and manage delivery schedules to align with project timelines

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier agreements
• Prepare and submit procurement reports to management as required

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal procurement requirements
• Identify, assess, and mitigate procurement-related risks

Communication & Collaboration

• Work closely with project management, engineering, and finance teams to align procurement activities with project goals
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, or related field).
• Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in the MEP industry.
• Strong knowledge of MEP materials, equipment, and suppliers.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in procurement.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
